Five students from the Madison schools were recognized Sunday
afternoon at the Emporia Middle School for the essays and posters
they completed to honor veterans. This year's topic was "A
True American Hero:The story of a veteran". Quentin Haas
received first place in the 6th grade essay competition with his
hero being his father, Kane Haas, veteran of Desert Storm and

On Monday the Bullpups traveled to Rosalia to face the
Flinthills Colts. The Girls Varsity and Boys JV played at the same
times in different gyms and then following the Boys Varsity and
Girls JV played.
The Girls JV played 2 quarters and won with a score of 21-4.
Scorers were Sammy Bond 8, Bridget Sherman 6, Georgette Cooper . . .

The Physics class taught by Mrs. McCollum is currently selling
Smencils. These are pencils that are made from recycled newspapers
and then scented. They are $1 each and kids love them. These would
make great stocking stuffers! See any of the students to buy one.
