MJH Basketball vs Crest

Boys Game

Thursday night, the MJH Junior Varsity went head-to-head with Crest's JV. In the first quarter, Ruger Shaw managed to score us a 3 point shoot, which put us ahead of the other team who scored only 2 points that quarter. When the second quarter started, our boys gave all they had and put 5 more points on the board with both Willie Derryberry and Ed Alvarez both scoring 2 points, and Nick Young scoring one point at the free throw. The end score was 8 to 10, with Madison coming just a few shots short of beating their opposition. Scorers: Ed Alvarez - 2 points. Willie Derryberry - 2. Nick Young - 1. Ruger Shaw - 3.

In the Varsity game, MJH managed to defeat Crest by 5 points. During the first quarter, Collin Kile scored an awesome 7 points, while Tanner Bybee, Damian Gutierrez, and Kole Schankie all scored 2 points as well. At the end of that quarter, it was 13 to 16, just short of being ahead. In the second quarter, the boys got ahead of the other team by 4 points by the end of it. Tanner Bybee and Damian Gutierrez both scored 2 points again, and this time both Collin Kile and Kole Schankie scored 3 points for the bulldogs. When they returned after half time, Collin Kile kept up his heat scoring 6 points, and Kole Schankie & Damian Gutierrez both scored 2 points, leaving the score at the end of the 3rd quarter at 33-25 with the bulldogs still ahead. During the last quarter, the bulldogs didn't score as much as in the rest of the game, but they still managed to hold Crest back enough to win the game, 36 to 31. Scorers for that quarter were Damian Gutierrez with 2 points, and Collin Kile with a free throw shot. Scorers: Damian Gutierrez - 8. Tanner Bybee - 4. Kole Schankie - 7. Girls Game:

Madison Junior High Girls Varsity wins against Crest Lancers by 28 to 7. They came out with a  good game. The scores were Danielle Henrichs with 7 points, Isabella Crowell with 2 points, Shelby Melton 4 points, Morgan Thomsen 7 points, Lindsey Buster 2 points. --By Isabella Crowell
