JV Lady Dawgs Play in Tourney

     After a late night at the Waverly make-up game Friday night, the Madison junior varsity girls turned around and headed back up early Saturday morning to play in the Waverly invitational tourney.  Up first in the morning’s play was the Lebo Lady Wolves.  The Lady Dawgs put up a valiant effort, but missing three of their players made it difficult to keep a strong rhythm.   Madison was unable to stop the Lady Wolves and lost 55-27.

     Victoria Dean led with 8 points and 4 rebounds, followed by Olivia Casey with 7 points, Kayla VanVliet with 4 points and Tina Ratcliff with 3 points.  Alleda McClelland and Taylor Ratcliff each threw in 2 points, Miranda Murphy contributed 1 point.

     The Madison Lady Bulldogs then turned around to play the Waverly Lady Bulldogs in a back-to-back game.  After losing to the Waverly JV girls the night before, the Madison Dawgs were ready to play hard.  Minus several Waverly varsity girls that had played JV the night before, the match-up was a good one and things were fairly even throughout until the end.  The fourth quarter showed Madison getting into foul trouble with 3 girls out of the game.  As the game came to a finish, Madison was unable to pull a win out and lost with a score of 33-26.

     Dean led again in points with 8, while Casey wasn’t far behind with 5 points.  VanVliet threw in 4 points, Tina Ratcliff had 3 points, and Cassie Drake, McClelland and Isabel Reuter contributed 2 points each.
