Youth Travel To Emporia For Youth For Music Honor Band

Three MHS students traveled to Emporia Feb. 2-3 for the 7th Annual Youth For Music Honor Band at Lowther North School. Students were Doug Fox on Bass Clarinet, Drew McVey on Bassoon and Alex Ramirez on Horn. The Clinician for the event was Dr. Frank Tracz, who is director of bands at Kansas State University. The students rehearsed all day Saturday and then returned on Sunday for a dress rehearsal and concert at 2:30pm.
Students from Burlington, Emporia, Uniontown, Osage City, Northern Heights, Ottawa, Chanute and Madison attended the annual event.
